History of the Gosford Challenge
In 2005/2006 Gosford City Council embarked on its ambitious
community engagement program; Vision 2025. This gave Council a clear
road map in respect of the community's goals for Gosford.
Delivery was to prove elusive until in mid 2008 a dedicated Council team was formed tasked with focusing singularly on the renewal of the city centre. This team identified specialist advisors, Kerr Partnering, with experience of delivering major urban renewals, and The Gosford Challenge was born. In rapid succession other government landowners were introduced to The Challenge, which became jointly sponsored by Gosford City Council and NSW Lands.
The Australian and international architectural firm, The Cox Group,
was recently named as Strategic Design Partner for the Gosford
Challenge. The Cox Group will be, literally, the architects of change,
charged with delivering a Master Plan for Gosford by the end of 2009.
